Poem #201 My Defender

With a word, the mountains crumble,

the seas part,

and the light breaks through the dark.

Even now, I can hear you speaking over me,

whispering truth and peace to my soul,

and reminding my spirit of the promises

you spoke of in times past.

With your words, you have protected me from the lies

the enemy has wielded like weapons against my salvation,

for your gospel is my hope and comfort.

To whom shall I run to

but you whose promises never return void,

to you, My Defender.
