Poem #247 Simmering Pot

Most days, the world is a barely simmering pot

of rage threatening to overflow

and take the world with it.

Somedays the pressure gets too much,

the lid pops off,

and the world seems like

it's on the verge of ending.

On those days, it's our job

to find the missing lid,

to stop the flow,

treat the wounded

and pot the genie back into the bottle.
