The training wheels have to come off at some point.
Though some of us might be terrified of what that means,
the freedom and danger it represents.
Another part will miss the training itself,
the hours spent learning how to ride.
But when the wheels come off
and we start to pedal on our own,
to feel the breeze on our skin,
and the comfortable pit in our stomach that replaces the wheel.
We realize that our fears
were much smaller than we thought.
