Poem #295 The Beaten Path

Just because the road is less traveled

doesn't make it any less difficult

nor does it make it any less dangerous.

The great expanse of the unknown,

as tempting as it may be,

is wild and overgrown,

full of ditches that remain unseen

yet are wide enough to get lost in.

The first rule of traveling

is to always stay between the two ditches.

There is nothing wrong

with taking the beaten path.
